![]() ![]() Realistically speaking, this is pretty much how we can expect Fallout 4 to be when it comes to leveling, even if we max our intelligence for the XP boost. Just to get to level 81 to fight the Ebony Warrior, I had to chain-level conjuration and/or illusion for hours if not days, which was tedious and boring and even though the fight was worth it, there wasn't much let to do on that character afterwards. After exhausting all quest content that wasn't radiant quests I personally topped off at about level 70 or so, with all my major skills having been fully leveled but not all perks maxed. With the legendary patch, the level cap in Skyrim was removed and we could effectively level our character as much as we wanted, to an extent anyway. So leveling speed will be close to Skyrim. But levelling speed is closer to Skyrim, and not as slow as Fallout 3. Levelling is experience point (XP) based like Fallout 3, not skill-based like Skyrim. To quote bethesda themselves from their character system article on : But let's look at all the reasons why this assumption is wrong for Fallout 4.
